THE ALARM SOUNDED: MAN OVERBOARD. BY THEN, OF COURSE, IT WAS FAR TOO LATE.

Roger McGeary, a brilliant software engineer, has gifted himself with an upscale cruise in honor of his fortieth birthday. When he falls to his death from the balcony of his stateroom suite, the incident is quickly declared a suicide. Only his maiden aunt, a tough-as-nails woman who runs a race horse refuge refuses to take “case closed” for an answer and turns to Ali Reynolds and Stuart Ramey at High Noon Enterprises to look for the truth.

During Stuart Ramey’s troubled childhood, he had only one real friend. Now that friend has apparently committed suicide by going overboard while on a cruise ship. Stu and his employers at High Noon Enterprises, Ali Reynolds and B. Simpson, are called into play when the victim’s aunt insists he was murdered. They soon find themselves pitted against a computer science wizard named Owen Hansen. Using his own personally-created artificial intelligence, Frigg, as Bonnie to his Clyde, Hansen is on track to becoming a serial killer, taking out each of his intended victims by remote control.
